Description

Dawn Baker's Select Carrot Cake Base is a cake and sponge mix from Dawn Foods for producing carrot cake.

Fortified wheat flour, sugar and rapeseed oil lead the ingredients, with egg powders, spices and caramel colour; it is suitable for vegetarians. Made up with water, vegetable oil and grated carrot, it is baked in a sheet at 190 °C for 30–35 minutes, and it also makes passion cake, ginger cake and Yorkshire Parkin. Contains: cereals containing gluten, eggs, milk. May contain: soya. Store in a cool dry place (max 21 °C); shelf life unopened is 12 months, and it is supplied as a 12.5 kg pack.

How to use

Intended use: The base is so versatile it can even be used to make classics such as ginger cakes and Parkin.
Intended use: Make carrot cake, passion cake, ginger cake or Yorkshire Parkin easily with one of the carrot cake mixes.
Intended use: Can also be used to make Parkin, ginger cake, waffles and more
Instructions: Just add oil, water and grated carrot to the Carrot Cake Base.
Instructions: Dawn Carrot Cake bases and mixes can be used to produce a traditional Fruit Cake: simply mix 1 kg of chosen dried fruit with 1 kg of mix.
Preparation: Premix 1000g, Water 430g, Vegetable Oil 45g, Grated Carrot 250g, Pineapple 90g (if required), 90g Walnut (if required). Add the liquids over 1 minute on slow speed. Scrape down. Mix 3-4 minutes on medium speed. Add grated carrot, pineapple and walnut. Blend until mixed through. Bake in a sheet for 30- 35 minutes at 190°C. Finish with Dawn Icings. These instructions are intended as a guide and may require changes to fit individual bakery conditions.
